Spruce Pine, NC- Troutacular! the state’s newest mountain heritage trout festival, is planned for Saturday, June 2, 2012 in celebration of Mitchell County receiving the honor of Bakersville and Spruce Pine being named two of five pilot programs for Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Cities in North Carolina.

Always the First Saturday in June, Troutacular is a celebration of Spruce Pine’s Mountain Heritage Trout Waters designation. This one day event is designed for children to lean and enjoy one of the Mitchell Counties greatest recourse. From Sun Rise on, this free event for children, ages 14 and under, compete in a fishing tournament and enjoy other entertaining activities.
